FOCUS on AYUTTHAYA FCOur next opponents, on Sunday 17th August, are Ayutthaya FC, currently 10th in Division 1 (five points fewer than CMFC). They achieved a late 1-0 home win, against Nakhom Pathom, in their last match, and they beat Chiang Mai FC by the same scoreline, earlier in the season. Let’s look at some key facts about Ayutthaya FC:

Untitled copy1. Ayutthaya FC have a very similar overall performance record, as our previous opponents, Phuket FC. They are much stronger playing at home. They have won 7 matches at home, but only 3 away from the Ayutthaya stadium this season (winning against Pattaya, Sri Racha and Roi Et). Their recent overall form, has been very good, losing only once in their last 8 matches (to Trat). They do tend to score goals, home and away, and are an attack minded team.

2. The main danger man from Ayutthaya is Berlin Ndebe Nlome (Ex Portsmouth, Swindon and Crawley Town). He is their top scorer, with 8 goals this season. Michael Byrne (Ex Stockport County and Northwich Victoria), has not featured much this season, having been out injured. Their goalkeeper is worth a mention : he is known as ‘Pinto’, and he is half Japanese and half Brazilian.

3. Their highest place finish in Division 1 was 8th, in the 2013 season. They were founded only in 2009.

CONCLUSION

Chiang Mai FC were not at their best, when they lost 1-0 to Ayutthaya FC earlier in the season. However, on the back of the away win against Phuket FC last weekend, this is a match that we should be looking to secure maximum points.

PREDICTION

A 2-0 win for CMFC.
