The Tigers travel to the the home of their Champions league playoff 2010 rivals Phichit FC this week following the home win last weekend against Phrae Utd. The 3-1 win hard fought win was settled in the later stages of the game after Chiang Mai had come from behind to draw level before half time. The Tigers became increasingly frustrated at their lack of attacking options and I still dont understand why #7 Amoha was on the bench until the 70th minute, this is the second game running that he has not started and Chiang Mai’s attacking options look limited when he is not on the pitch. On his entrance to the game the attacking play became more fluent and in the 81st minute Amoha had put Chiang Mai in front and with only a few minutes remaining it was the same striker that set up #8 Machuca to make the score 3-1. With the news this week that Russ Mensah is back at the club and almost fit then I hope that the lack of fire power up front will be a thing of the past. Russ is with out doubt in my opinion one of the best strikers in the bottom 2 divisions and could certainly grace the premiership and it is a very good move by Chiang Mai.

This weeks opponents Phichit also were involved with a 3-1 scoreline last week, but they were on the losing end against our local rivals Lamphun warriors, Phichit’s manager has said this week that he will be looking for revenge against Chiang Mai FC.  Phichit who sit 2 places and 2 points behind the tigers in 6th have won 2, drawn 1 and lost 1 of their first 4 games but this is their first game at home for 3 weeks so they will be looking to their home support for inspiration. Their squad is made up of Thai’s apart from 2 Brazilians one in midfield and one defender.

The Phichit Fans will be looking for a good result against the Tigers.
