This week the Tigers go on their travels again, this time heading south to Nakhon Sawan. After a great 4-0 victory at home this past Sunday against Phetchabun, a game in which the tigers were expected to win but did so with ease, the game was played in a fast tempo for 70 minutes before Chiang Mai took their foot off the pedal slightly without letting Phetchabun get any sort of grip in the game.

The game was virtually over by half time after 2 goals from Chang Mai’s number 8 Angelo Machuca, the first from the penalty spot and the second coming just before half time with a sweetly hit freekick. Minutes into the second half the scored was 3-0 thanks to the first of 2 goals from number 7 Isaac Amoah, his second courtesy of an header midway through the second half and the game just then played out to the end. Some good goal scoring talent on display but also I would like to mention new defender Samuel Lamtey the tigers new number 30, who controlled the defense and look extremely solid at the back.

Machuca being presented with his new shirt before the game, he then went on to score the Tigers first 2 goals of the game.

This weeks opponents Nakhon Sawan have had a poor start to the season with a loss at home to Phichit and then last week an away draw against our Lanna neighbours Lamphun Warriors. Last season the Red Lions finished just outside the play-off places in fourth and the seaon before that they finished 5th. Nakhon Sawan will be hoping to kick start their season against everyone’s favourite for the title Chiang Mai Fc.

The game will be played on Saturday 2nd March at the Nakhon Sawan Sports School Stadium with the kick off time being 6pm.

Chiang Mai Football Club English will be at the game so all the news and scores will be available on Facebook (http://facebook.com/cmfcenglish) Twitter (@cmfcenglish) and this site.
