In their previous game Chiang Mai FC played local rivals Chiang Rai FC. The game didn’t see Chiang Rai getting a great deal of possession and they appeared to be outclassed from the very start. Chiang Mai’s #8 continued his good form of scoring in the 30th minute to give The Tigers a 1-0 lead. At half time the fans were treated to a display of real tigers as well as other animals courtesy of The Chiang Mai Night Safari who are now offering a 50% discount to season ticket holders.
In the second half the most notable point was Chiang Rai scoring their only goal of the match on the 80 minute mark. Unfortunately they scored in their own net giving Chiang Mai a 2-0 victory at the final whistle.
On Saturday 26th of May (this weekend) Chiang Mai are away to Kamphaeng Phet. The Tigers are still unbeaten in the league and they are 11 points clear at the top. Kamphaeng Phet are currently in 6th place so could pose a threat at their home ground. They have won all 5 of their last 5 games so are currently on good form having recently beated Sukhothai & Phitsanulok means they should be up for the challenge of facing Chiang Mai.
Kamphaeng Phet FC play their games at The Cha Kung Rao Stadium.
